This Bella Vista home had great bones - a striking mid-century-influenced design with warm cedar siding and bold rooflines. What it needed was an exterior that could hold its own against that architecture. So that's exactly what we set out to build.
We used native stone throughout - walls, columns, and flagstone flooring that all pull from the same natural palette. The goal was for everything to feel like it grew out of the land rather than being dropped on top of it. When you're working with a wooded lot like this one, that connection to the surroundings matters a lot.
The stacked stone columns carry some real visual weight. Each course was carefully set to keep the lines clean and the structure solid. The low stone walls flanking the entry walkway tie the columns together and give the whole front approach a sense of purpose - it feels intentional, not just decorative.
The flagstone floor ties it all together. We fit each piece by hand, working around the natural shapes to create a surface that's both functional and easy on the eyes. No two sections look exactly the same, which is honestly one of the best things about working with natural stone - you end up with something that can't be replicated anywhere else.
Stone masonry done right doesn't just look good on day one. It holds up, weathers naturally, and actually gets better with time. For a home like this one in Bella Vista, that kind of lasting quality was the whole point.
