Natural Stone Waterfall Built Into a Bella Vista Hillside

A sloped backyard can feel like a problem without a solution. Too steep to use, too plain to enjoy - most homeowners just ignore it. This Bella Vista property had exactly that kind of hillside, and we saw an opportunity to turn it into the best part of the yard.

We built a cascading natural stone waterfall that works with the slope instead of fighting it. Each tier was set using large fieldstone pieces, stacked and shaped so the water moves naturally from level to level. That kind of flow doesn't happen by accident - it takes careful placement and an understanding of how water actually behaves on a grade.

The stone we used here carries warm brown and tan tones that blend right into the wooded backdrop, and the irregular shapes give it that organic feel you just can't get with manufactured materials.
