Here's what we were working with - a bare, unfinished strip of ground running along the side of the house with no real path, no defined edge, and nothing guiding you from the driveway to the front door. Functional? Barely. Polished? Not even close.
The homeowner wanted something that matched the clean, modern feel of the home itself. So we came up with a design that did exactly that - large rectangular stepping stones set in a straight, deliberate line, surrounded by river rock, and framed tight with steel edging. Simple, sharp, and built to hold its shape over time.
Steel edging is one of those details that makes a big difference. It keeps the rock contained, prevents creep into the lawn, and gives the whole bed a crisp boundary that doesn't soften or sag over the years. Paired with the river rock fill, it means low maintenance and a finish that stays looking intentional rather than overgrown.
This is the kind of hardscape work we genuinely enjoy - where the design-build process lets us take a rough, muddy patch of ground and turn it into something the homeowner is proud to walk up every day. No concrete slab, no generic solution. Just a walkway that fits the property and holds up to real use.
Pea Ridge properties like this one have a lot of character, and the right hardscape design can bring that out without overdoing it. Clean lines, quality materials, and attention to the details that actually matter - that's what we're going for every time.
