Stone Patio and Fire Pit Build in Bella Vista

This Bella Vista backyard had a real problem. The grade was uneven, the space was hard to use, and there was no good reason to actually spend time out there. A lot of yards around here end up that way - especially ones with significant slope. The fix wasn't a quick one, but it was the right one.

We came in and tackled the whole thing as one connected outdoor living project. A natural stone patio laid the foundation for everything else. From there, we built a stone fire pit that anchors the seating area, added stone steps to connect the upper deck level down to the patio, and put in a retaining wall to hold the grade and clean up the slope. Every piece works together.

The stone masonry work here is what makes it last. Natural stone steps like these - cut and set with solid footing - hold up through years of freeze and thaw cycles. The fire pit is built to the same standard. Stacked stone surround, proper construction, built to be a permanent part of the yard rather than something you move around.

What we ended up with is a space that actually gets used. Fire pit nights, people gathered around, drinks in hand - that's the whole point. When fall rolls around and the evenings cool off, this yard is ready for it.

A lot of homeowners sit on projects like this for years because the slope or the grade feels like too big of a problem. It usually isn't. With the right approach to grading, stonework, and layout, a yard that felt unusable can become the spot everyone wants to be.
